2021
Abrace Marmitada was born when Abrace O Próximo and Marmitada BH joined forces.
During the health crisis that hit Brazil in 2020, the Marmitada BH group set out to prepare and distribute decent meals for the homeless population, which grew dramatically in the capital of Minas Gerais.
With no experience in this kind of work, the group teamed up with Abrace O Próximo, which has been on the streets for a long time, bringing relief to this highly vulnerable population.
That partnership gave rise to this wonderful project, which today has bylaws, a valid tax registration, and everything else it needs to fight poverty and hunger in Belo Horizonte in a lawful, transparent, and brilliantly caring way.
What we did
We built a new website on the Abrace-marmitada.com.br domain and, because the group had merged with Abrace O Próximo, we adjusted the crowdfunding campaign that was already running.
2020
Instituto Juntos was founded in October 2017 thanks to the great success of Projeto Juntos, which has existed in São Paulo since 2005.
The project sets out to empower young people through sports and the arts. Now established as an NGO, Instituto Juntos works in the city of São Paulo and in Ubatuba, and plans to expand to Vinhedo as well.
The group's main goal is to give young people the tools to break through the barrier of vulnerability. Among these tools, they hold talks on social entrepreneurship and look for innovative, high-impact solutions to society's challenges.
What we did
We built a new website for the Institute and made ourselves available to help keep it up to date.
2019
Engenheiros da Alegria
Engenheiros da Alegria is a group open to everyone, regardless of age or profession, that builds smiles through personal and community empowerment, aiming for physical and emotional transformation for everyone involved.
The group started in 2011, inspired by the work of Doutores da Alegria, the Oasis Game, and the movie Pay It Forward, and it runs three volunteer programs: Visitas Alegreiras, bringing smiles to communities, daycare centers, schools, and nursing homes; FelizCidade, urban interventions that bring a little more love to the streets of Belo Horizonte; and Mão na Massa, a playful but serious effort to change the world through community mobilization.
What we did
We registered the group's domain, EngenheirosdaAlegria.com, and built a new website to spread the word about their work and keep this wheel of solidarity turning.
2018
Resgatai Missões Urbanas
Projeto Resgatai was created in 2012 to intervene in the urban environment and, through its initiatives and by training people, to act as agents of change in society.
It is an NGO that works to rescue people who are at risk in all kinds of ways, giving them the means to get back on their feet and live with dignity.
Just one of the group's initiatives has already served more than 62,000 breakfasts in downtown Belo Horizonte. On top of that, a great deal of clothing is collected and handed to those who need it, along with vital support behind many stories of overcoming hardship.
What we did
We re-registered the NGO's domain, Resgatai.org, which had been lost some time earlier, and built a new website to spread the word about their work.
2017
Abrace O Próximo
Abrace O Próximo is a group of friends, acquaintances, and strangers too who, one way or another, through a chain of goodwill, come together to bring some relief to people in vulnerable situations who therefore need care and attention.
The group was born with three missions: to do good for anyone, without distinction; to be the change we want to see in the world, starting with ourselves; and to bring out each volunteer's skills, so everyone can give the group their very best.
What we did
We built the project's website to promote the group's work, and we also created a crowdfunding campaign through which anyone can support its initiatives every month.
